"The Window"
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour a day to drain the fluids from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed next to the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed would live for those one-hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the outside world. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake, the man had said. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Lovers walked arm in arm amid flowers of every color of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Unexpectedly, an alien thought entered his head: Why should hehave all the pleasure of seeing everything while I never get to see anything? It didn't seem fair. As the thought fermented, the man felt ashamed at first. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window - and that thought now controlled his life.
Late one night, as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room, he never moved, never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running. In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, along with the sound of breathing. Now, there was only silence--deathly silence.
The following morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths. When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendant to take it away--no words, no fuss. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
Moral of the story:
The pursuit of happiness is a matter of choice...it is a positive attitude we consciously choose to express. It is not a gift that gets delivered to our doorstep each morning, nor does it come through the window. And I am certain that our circumstances are just a small part of what makes us joyful. If we wait for them to get just right, we will never find lasting joy.
The pursuit of happiness is an inward journey. Our minds are like programs, awaiting the code that will determine behaviors; like bank vaults awaiting our deposits. If we regularly deposit positive, encouraging, and uplifting thoughts, if we continue to bite our lips just before we begin to grumble and complain, if we shoot down that seemingly harmless negative thought as it germinates, we will find that there is much to rejoice about.

I hope i was really sleeping just now. But..honestly, i wasn't.

I admit that i do kind of look strong at the outside, but rather..I always hide in my blanket and cry :')

The fact is, i'm crying cause i can't face you anymore. I don't know.

I asked her if i should text you and ask you to stay at home instead?

Cause i'm afraid that i might burst into tears in front of you.

i'm tired because, i was folding the paper hearts for you from night to the morning around 5am.

I was then awaken by Jolene's call that i'd overslept.

I should've woke up at 9am and met her at 9.30am to get the 2 slices of cake that i promise to give you.

I accidentally fell asleep at 5am and apologise that i'm unable to give the gift to you today.

My hands got blisters, small cuts and even skin tear.

But i never say much, cause i hope that you'll be happy when you receive the gift.

But sadly to say, I'm unable to complete it after 1 year plus.

I can no longer feel the care and warmth that you once gave anymore :(

And it hurts a lot to know that ...haha, its not important anymore.

I do not allow you to be sad, its because i know that it doesn't feel good to be alone.

I don't know why i'm so tensed over all my exams regardless how hard i try to tell myself not to.

Urghhh, i can't get anything into my head right now for my Social Studies.

And i can only say that the only subject i'm confident in right now, is only my Science(chem).

Nothing else.

But i promise i'll work doubly hard for my O's after this MYE.

I guess i won't be blogging that often already.

I've lost the feeling of 'being-able-to-memorize-a-damn-long-8-paragraph-essay' long ago :(

How i wish my brain is able to memorize up to 100 essays, then i would not be troubled for my Humanities...

On Saturday(01/05)....

Oh yeah, I had great time with Farah and Nora, and Weiting at the later part of the day.

In the morning... went for sauna and Gym exercising with Farah and Nora.

I like Farah's house! :) I think it gives you a old palace feel~ But i like it (Y)

AND WE STAYED IN THE WOODEN SAUNA THINGY UNTIL 60 DEGREES.

HAHAHA. At first, i intend to stay till 70 degrees, but Nora and Farah didn't want to.

They wanted to go to Gym, so we headed over to the Gym.

Its been a long time since, i had a great jog? =D

I ran for 30 mins on the jogging exercising machine, and i ran for 3.47 KM :D

WOOO. i think i lost some weight^^

After which, we did some A maths work with twt.

On Sunday(02/05)....

Celebrated Mothers' Day with my family.

Got my mum Merci Chocolates and hope she likes it. Hehe.

I ate some of it. But i like the Dark Mousse one best! :D

The rate of Physics teaching in school is bringing us nowhere. Not even O's Prelims okay.
I don't know what is wrong with the school.

Can't they do something about recuiting more Physics teacher in as they can see that there isn't enough teacher bringing us enough knowledge?

Hmm, met a guy on the bus, he needed coins as he only got notes and forgot to bring ezlink.

At first, he asked me if i have any coins for a 2 dollars note. I told him nope.

Cause, my mama really never give me any money that morning!

After that, silence between the 2 of us.

Urgh.

I was thinking...WHY I DIDN'T BRING MONEY OUT? OR ELSE I COULD HAVE HELPED HIM!

I dug inside my bag, then found 80 cents...then he added another 20 cents.

At the point of time, felt so nice to say "its alright, you can have it" haha!

Met the 3 monsters and went to school for oral.

Its a total screwed up oral for me :( Shall not talk about it anymore~

Oh yeah, went kite flying with girlfriend, Jolene and Irene! Its fun.

Except that, at the later part...Irene and Jolene become tired and look after our belongings.

Fly kite with girlfriend at the other end of the field...far away from that couple..Jolene and Irene...EH? HAHA.

Damn, the DSLR battery died on me! grrrr.

Hmm, my Chemistry results for the Qualification test is 18/30.

I'm not even proud to even pass the test, but at the very least..i didn't let miss ang down :P

Friday 19/02/10

X-country. I walked with Nora and Jenn. After that, reached school at 10 plus going 11.

Interacted with the Anning students. Singing and games. Exchanged gifts, exchange contacts.

Took photos, and then bid goodbye. I went home shortly, changed clothes. After which, i took bus

to interchange to find Irene and Jolene at Century Square. Played at the arcade. Jolene left with Roy and friends.

Irene and me, went to Food Court to have desserts.

We got bored and wanted to watch movies. But we are short of money.

I called Weiling and lend money from her.

We bought tickets and went to the basement to get food + drinks.

Watched that 'Valentines' Day' movie together.

Woo, my girlfriend got me these roses, see! She loves me =D Hehe.

Hmm, girlfriend came over to my house at 2.48pm plus plus then she passed me these roses at my door. HEHE.
She helped me catch my fighting fish out of the tank into another as i change the water for the fishy! =P

I went up to the 3rd floor, the queue is still LONG. But i just queue up la, cannot TAHAN alr.

After going to the toilet felt so relieved. Woo, nice.

I went to popular right after that, and get everything i needed/wanted.

THE QUEUE AT POPULAR ALSO LONG. DAMN. SO WASTED MY TIME WAITING AGAIN.

I spent like 12 dollars plus at there. And headed over to T1 to get my planner! SUPER CUTE ONE =P

Candy Machine!

Today had Chemistry CA1 in the morning, first period -.-

Hmm, CL did about the newspaper thing.

After that Assembly, boring like ....what. But i didn't make noise though i don't really know what's happening.

Today class 405 and 406 went on a trip to Semakau Landfill and Kusu Island.

We did nothing much, went around the Semakau Landfill one round and then got 'lesson' in a air conditioned room.

Ok. i'm tired already after a long day at @ my boyfriend's house =p

HAHAH! Weiling's house laa.. did a few homework questions then we started playing -____-

We got so bored...till we played Dare? lol. But never kena me :P

After that, we got hungry...so we dialed for the MACS :D

I ate McChicken, Fattening i know :)

At 6.30pm, Carolyn + Jingting say want to go home.

SO we walked till Jingting's house there. WHILE walking there, we're blowing bubbles.

BLOWING BUBBLES LIKE LITTLE CHILDREN!!

After that, we played at Sunplaza park.

I blow bubbles with Weiling and Jingting.

Many little children were attracted to those bubbles.

There's this little toddler, super cute.

After sending Jingting back home, waited bus with Jenn..

Boyfriend held my hand and brought me home..awwww ;)

Today, i went up the stage during assembly to get the 'top for CL' in Sec 3 express 2009.

How worse can my life get? =/

This few days things have been happening in my family.

I'm still wondering what've gone wrong, seriously :(

Little brother supposed to be discharge today but this morning then i am informed that he'll only be discharged tomorrow...sian :(
My mum lost her phone in the morning, but she got it back, idk how. But somehow, it still scare me in a certain way.
My elder sister and her boyfriend got into an accident. Luckily nothing happened. No injuries.

Just now went to Changi General Hospital with them to have a check up.

Omg, i'm super tired, But no matter what, i'll be strong :)

I HAVE TO BE. Sigh.

I hate myself for being so weak.

I've to be independent like how girlfriend said :(

Its not i don't want to be, I'm trying hard to be.

Crying is inevitable somehow.

Everytime when tears are filling up my eyes, i held them back.

And when people saw that, they ask me "why you cry?"

" I'm just yawning..." thats what i would reply all the time.

Its the very first time...my house felt so empty and hollow...where's the warmth that used to be there, so comfortably?

Hmm, i'm currently in the hospital looking after my dearest brother. I really hope that he can recover real soon. Looking at the needles and injections he have to take is really heart breaking =/

But he's really brave. When i asked him if its painful, he can reply me he's not afraid nor pain. Good boy isn't he =)

Sigh. I'm worried sick last night. i tossed and turn but i couldn't sleep. So, i read a book...till i fell asleep on the bed with my storybook. Hmm.

Its great to see him singing right now in front of me, while i'm blogging this. But, i'm still worried. One day he's not completely recovered, i'll never be able to rest my mind :(

My dear mummy take care of him for the whole night in the hospital. And i came this morning to take over her and look after my little brother so that she could go home and rest. Later at 2pm, my dad is going to fetch me to Bugis. Which is some where near this KK women and children hospital. Hmm, i'll be strong. I cannot cry in front of him =(

Or else he'll be sad. Somehow he's just a little seven year old kid.

He's sleeping soundly now :)
